NEWSGROUPSERVERS.INFOComplete and fast: watched folders, URL fetching, API submission, per-category routing, duplicate detection and a queue that reorders without complaint. Functionally it matches SABnzbd on this axis, and the differences that remain are taste rather than capability. Nothing we fed it in normal use caused a stumble.
NZBGet is our first recommendation on this board, and the reasoning is unglamorous: it does everything SABnzbd does in a fraction of the footprint, so it runs on the cheap always-on box where a download client actually belongs, and the maintained fork has taken the one real worry (abandonment) off the table. Choose it for NAS boxes, Pis, routers and any machine chosen for silence or power draw rather than horsepower, and choose it over any provider-bundled client without hesitating, because it works with every provider on this site and keeps working when you change your mind. Skip it if you want the larger community, the bigger script library and the friendlier UI, which is SABnzbd’s territory one slot below, or if you want search built in, which is neither of theirs and is what an indexer is for. The decisive point: on weak hardware it is the best tool in this table, on strong hardware it is a coin flip with the entry below it, and on the question of who owns your setup it wins outright. No reader fits every setup. If NZBGET is not the right match for your hardware, your platform or your provider, these two from the same league table are the ones to try next.
